Officer trainees and staff at NACEN has a long association and the two have been coming together on various occasions. The children take part in various cultural activities at NACEN as well on various occasions.
However what one thing we observed this time was that, the association of NACEN and SOS has been occasional. For example, inviting the children on Republic day and other events, where they perform. Though this stage performance is important for boosting their confidence, WE at NACEN have potential to buildup a more deep, consistent and reliable relationship with SOS which can give children a promising support.
For example, 1mother looking after 15/16 children in a house, makes it difficult to pay personal attention on each child. NACEN OTs can spare some time in resolving issues relating to subjects they find difficult.
We observed most of the children in higher classes face problem in reading and comprehending English. This hampers their understanding of other subjects too as they are in English language.
Giving some time daily, to teach children basic English words, sentences and inculcating confidence in them to speak and read English can take them long way ahead.
